Hi, I am Yohanne Mwale
Today, as the founder of 285th Street Media, I specialize in wedding photography, event coverage, headshots, and portraits in Orlando, Central Florida, and across the U.S. My style is rooted in candid storytelling, inspired by my love of street photography.
That means I focus on natural, unposed moments. The laughter between friends, the proud glance of a parent, the joy of a couple fully present in their wedding day. While I’ll guide you for portraits when needed, I believe the best images happen when you feel comfortable and free to enjoy the moment.
Why Photography...
My journey with art and storytelling began long before I ever picked up a camera. Growing up in South Africa, I was always drawn to creativity through painting, writing, and music. I even worked as a freelance entertainment writer and spent time in the video game industry as an analyst, all while pursuing music on the side. Each path sharpened my sense of observation, timing, and emotion.
But it was photography that truly captured me. Inspired by visionaries like Peter McKinnon, I found myself immersed in this art form, discovering that it was the perfect way to bring all my creative passions together. Photography became more than just a hobby. It became my calling, a way to preserve stories that matter most.
